Tax Effective and Perceived

Tax in the UK is complex and described in somewhat confusing way but I think this is what it usually ends up being. (It is kind of a heresy to reduce it to a problem with one-dimensional input (income), but it is illustrative enough of a point.) When you hear people talking about 60+% tax, now you know what they are talking about.
